This guy is not your garden-variety 18-year-old felon.

Kennewick police continue to investigate following the arrest of an 18-year-old felon who was apprehended with stolen firearms and police tactical gear in his possession.

Around 2:40pm Saturday, police were called to a home in the 800 block of Alder Street on a report that a juvenile runaway might be there. Upon arrival police attempted contact, but despite hearing movement inside, no one at the home responded.

After attempting contact at the residence again later in the day, police noticed an SUV reported stolen out of Olympia was parked at the residence. A man who left the residence was detained and turned out to be 18-year-old Ethan Piper, a convicted felon.  He was uncooperative with police, and while he was being detained, two people tried to run from the home. One of them was identified as a runaway, and he was detained.

After obtaining a warrant, police found a second juvenile runaway inside a closet inside the home.  The first juvenile was found to be possession of stolen property, and while police were searching the home, they  found two stolen guns, narcotics, and police tactical gear that were in Piper's possession.

Piper is facing a variety of charges and is now in the Benton County jail.
