2-Year-Old Boy Killed Near Wapato After Crawling Under Semi-Truck

Yakima County authorities report a tragic accident involving toddler.

Wednesday evening, the unidentified child apparently crawled underneath a truck parked at a residence on Progressive Road, said sheriff office officials.

The truck belonged to a family member and they attempted to move the vehicle when they realized after a couple of feet they had hit something. The man who was moving the vehicle said he had last seen the boy in the yard, but apparently did not know he had crawled under the vehicle.

The boy was pronounced dead at Toppenish Community Hospital.
