The Rockstar Energy "Takin' it to the streets" 3-on 3 basketball tournament is July 20-21 in Hermiston.

"It's a great event that has been growing every year. Last year we had 240 teams," said Joe Thompson, one of the organizers.

Next to the Spokane tournament, it's the largest on the East Side.

"You know, Spokane... they are IT. But eight years ago we decided to start this up. All funds we raise go to help kids in Hermiston play basketball. It's right in downtown Hermiston," he added.

The tournament has brackets for all age levels and all skill levels from 4th grade to men's elite.

For spectators, the best court for watching ball is the downtown court. Driving south on Highway 395, turn east on Main, turn left near Banner Bank and that's the downtown court.

"You can still register for the next three days or so. You are really gonna want to get it in if you want to play, we encourage you to do so ASAP. You can go onto our website Hermiston3on3.org.  Put your team in, you can pay there and do all the things you need to do, and you are good to go," he said.

Or if you'd like, there are paper forms to sign up and turn East Side Market, 6th and Main in downtown Hermiston.

This event is sponsored by Rockstar Energy Drink, Bellinger Farms, Greybeal Coueurs, Dutch Brothers Coffee and Tom Detchel's Ford Country.
