Honor among thieves? Maybe drug peddlers?

Here at Newstalk870.am we told you the story of the Oregon prison inmate who was accidentally released from custody Monday. Stephen Jamaal Reed, 22, was temporarily in the Multnomah County Jail pending a court appearance when he was mistakenly released by jail officials. He was serving time in the Oregon State Penitentiary for drug charges. The court appearance was for possession and delivery of drugs including coke and heroin.

News reports did not indicate how officers were able to contact him, but apparently through a tip authorities reached him and he agreed to turn himself in. He surrendered to officials in a Portland K-Mart parking lot. No mention has been made by authorities over specific details as to why he was released from jail.
