Behind a stellar performance in goal from Drew Owsley, and two goals from Mason Wilgosh, the Tri City Americans swept Vancouver in the opening round of the WHL playoffs.

For the second time in two years, the Giants will be golfing next weekend, thanks to the Tri City Americans.  As they did in the Western Conference Finals last year, the Am's rolled Vancouver out of the playoffs.  It was the first time in Coach Don Hay's tenure in Vancouver the Giants were swept 4 games to nothing.  Wednesday night in Vancouver, the Ams broke open a tight 2-1 game with three goals in the third period, including two from Mason Wilgosh.  Wilgosh and Justin Feser scored 21 seconds apart to bury Vancouver, and Wilgosh added an insurance goal late in the period.  The Ams will not find out their second round opponent until at least Saturday night.
