The Kennewick City Council is currently accepting applications from local citizens who interested in serving on the City Council. The position is vacant due to Mayor Pro Tem Sharon Brown recently being appointed to the State Senate.

The vacant position is for service representing Ward 2 through Dec. 31, 2013. Applicants must reside in Ward 2, located between Union Street and Olympia Street, north of W. 19th Avenue and between Union Street and South Vancouver Street south of W. 19th Avenue.

Applications are due before Friday, March 1 at 5 p.m. and may be obtained from the City Clerk’s office at 210 West 6th Avenue or online.

The City Council will interview candidates during a special council meeting in March and then select a candidate to fill the vacancy. For more information, interested applicants can call 585-4273.
