Franklin County Fraud Investigation Continues

The investigation continues into alledged theft going on in Franklin County.

64 year old Dennis M. Huston, who works in the Public Works Department doing accounting and administration work, was booked Thursday into the Franklin County Jail on suspicion of  first degree theft, money laundering and posession of a controlled substance.  According to new information, the alledged theft and fraud was discovered less than two weeks ago after an internal audit.  Officials say the alledged activity could have been going on for months.   They did not say how much money was taken.   They also said the employees put on paid administrative leave are simply being moved out of the way to the investigation can continue.  So far Huston is the only person arrested or named as part of the alledged criminal activity.
