Avengers Launch-Record Numbers, Or Not?

According to late Friday data from Hollywood watchers, Avengers did not break a record, but is still looking like a monster at the box office.
It’s being called the 8th biggest midnight opening across theaters, bringing in between 65-67 million domestically. Digitally, though, at IMAX and 3-D and other enhanced theaters, it blew past all the others for the biggest digital opening ever, at 18.7 million. By Monday, we will know the full extent of whether Avengers will be up with the Hunger Games and other big movies.
