Benton County has seen it's special gang unit pay off in many ways, one of them busting a highly sought drug dealer. Officials say it's the biggest operation run so far by the unit.

Since the fall of 2014, the five-man unit has conducted nearly 20 such operations in the county. Recently, they were conducting surveillance on a Richland woman suspected of being a known drug dealer.

Molly Brown was arrested by the gang-drug unit after a traffic stop, and officials found a wide variety of drugs in her car, ranging from meth to heroin and prescription pills. Some of the drugs were contained in a small black safe in the back of her car.

She was arrested in Kennewick, but many of the groups operations have targeted Benton City. The group relies heavily on informant information and tips from citizens about suspicious activity.
