Police have now identified the body found by teenagers in the Columbia River along Columbia Drive in Kennewick. The body was discovered next to the shoreline a short distance east from the Cable Bridge (pictured at left).

The body was found right by the shoreline near the 600 block of East Columbia Drive by teenagers this week.

Authorities say it was that of 54-year-old Keith Paulson. Some reports initially indicated he might have been a homeless person, but no other confirmation was given.

The Benton County Coroner says the body was not traumatized in any way, nor is foul play suspected. The cause of death was not given yet, Coroner John Hansen's office is still awaiting the results of toxicology tests on the body.

There will not be an autopsy performed. The body was found just East of the Cable Bridge. Officials said Paulson had disappeared in May, it is not known how long he was in the water, but initial reports indicated he looked as if he'd been in the for anywhere from 12-24 hours.
