Breaking news from Washington D.C.

People standing across the street near the Supreme Court were hurried away, after reports of shots being fired.  There is an unconfirmed report of an injured officer.

The Weekly Standard, monitoring Twitter, reports from Senator Claire McCaskill,

"Shots fired outside the Capitol. We are in temporary lock down."

One house member reported they were in lockdown inside the Capitol building, and unconfirmed reports of shooter in custody.

Moments ago, the image from this story was displayed on Capitol TV network in the building and other government agencies.
