As the school year winds down you likely find yourself with another huge box of all your child's drawings, stories, portrait photos, macaroni necklaces, and popsicle statues. If your kids are grown, a significant amount of storage is likely dedicated to 18 years worth of these items for each kid. Here's a brilliant solution to lighten your load:

Scan it!

Yes, it's that easy. Use a scanner to copy the drawings, stories, photos and certificates! Hand your kid a CD (and maybe a dozen items too precious to throw away) and put the rest in a dumpster!

If you prefer, you can Photoshop stuff into a scrapbook you can print. Every image doesn't need to be 8x11. You can compress 4 or 6 pages onto one and print it in high resolution full color.

Why are you still acting like a 19th century parent when nearly every home has a scanner? If you don't have one, your local library (or next-door neighbor) does.

Happy spring cleaning!
