Drivers used to utilizing the Edison Street on ramp to get onto Highway 240 heading to Pasco will be delayed, and sent East or West for a few days.

Tuesday, a broken 24-inch main sewer line forced the Northbound lanes to be closed to traffic. The main trunk line, as it is called, will require at least a couple of days to fix, according to city crews.

Fortunately for area residents, city crews set up a bypass system to remove sewage that would have been carried by the pipe, so no service interruptions are expected.

The southbound lanes off 240 into Kennewick will remain open.  Drivers coming down Edison northbound will have to head west to Columbia Center Blvd. or East to Highway 395.
