He thought he was clever trying to enter through the doggie door, but got his butt whooped by the homeowner.

Kennewick authorities are searching for 32-year-old Dwayne M. Bateman on various charges involving residential burglary and 1st. degree burglary after he allegedly tried to break in to a home on South Lyle St.

Around 4:50 am June 13th, the homeowner found Bateman had entered through a doggie door in the garage, and fought with the homeowner.   Bateman was able to get away, but later in the same day, this genius tried again.

Just after 8am,  he allegedly entered a home in the 900 Block of West  25th. through an unlocked sliding door, but again was foiled by the homeowner, who chased him off.

Bateman was last known to be living in the Kennewick area,  anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers at 509-586-TIPS.  All information is confidential and can lead to a cash reward.
