Late Saturday, somebody broke into the Sports Authority store on North Colorado in Kennewick.

At 11:43 pm, police responded to an alarm at the sporting goods store, and upon arrival found evidence of a "smash-and-dash."

The perpetrators probably were aware the store had an alarm system,  so they broke in, grabbed as much merchandise as they could, and fled.   Police found store items, including a number of sports jerseys, on the sidewalk outside.  It appears to be a quick burglary, and numerous merchandise display racks were knocked over inside the store.  This might indicate the suspect(s) were running to get as much as they could.

No information was released if police have any suspects,  anyone with information is asked to anonymously report it to Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers at (609)-586-TIPS.

Often in these cases, when burglars steal a number of jerseys or other valuable items, they often attempt to sell them on e-bay or Craigslist.
