You might want to think twice when your apartment is broken into if you're running what looks like a marijuana operation.

Kennewick police reported Monday evening they were called to an apartment near 10th and Olympia. The victims of an apparent burglary called the police, but then declined to tell officers what was stolen.

The occupants, who are all minors, apparently are renting the unit. They said they returned home to find the door had been forced open, and when they tried to chase the suspect's car, a gun was pointed at them.

But from the evidence left behind, it became pretty clear the burglars were after marijuana. Police found ample evidence some sort of significant pot operation was in place. Marijuana was found as well as paraphernalia and a scale.

In probably the understatement of the year, police said the incident was 'under investigation.'
