Field fires are being restarted near Touchet by an unlikely source, field mice that have caught on fire. These flaming mice, along with gusty winds are keeping crews busy fighting fire restarts. The Fire Chief from Walla Walla District 6 says the mice catch fire from all the residue still hot after most of a fire has been extinguished according to news reports. After catching fire the mice run around in a panic like anyone on fire would, spreading the fire to nearby areas and causing new hot spots.
