Don't be alarmed if the Cable Bridge looks "different" tonight!

Thanks to help from HAPO Credit Union,  the lights on the Cable Bridge in Kennewick are turning teal for the month of September starting Thursday night.

A local cancer awareness group, Ovarian Cancer Together, came up with the idea of illuminating the Cable Bridge with teal-colored lights to call attention to the illness. Kadlec Regional Medical Center also donated $500; with numerous other donations the bridge will be lit for the month.

There will also be a special "Teal and Veal" fundraising dinner menu item at the Clover Island Inn throughout September.

The public is invited to attend a special ceremony at 7:45 p.m. Thursday to light the bridge.  Sunset is at 7:40 p.m. then teal lights will come to life.
