It isn't just that somebody deliberately set this car on fire, resulting in a total loss, it's that this neighborhood in Kennewick is becoming a crime problem for Kennewick police.

A deliberately set arson fire Monday night destroyed this car in the 700 block of North Tweedt Street. Fire and police units received a 9-1-1 call and found the car fully ablaze when they arrived around 10:25pm.

This neighborhood, located just off Hood Ave, and less than a quarter mile east of Volland, has become an area of concern in recent months. A bullet was fired through the front wall of a dwelling recently, bouncing around inside the home, and Christmas Eve it was the scene of the discovery of a 21-year-old woman who was fatally shot and dumped in the road.

Anyone with any information on this fire is asked to call Tri-City Crime Stoppers at (509)-586-TIPS.
