Update Coming on Legislative Efforts to Fund Washington Schools

In 2012, the Washington State Supreme Court ruled the way the state legislature funded education was "unconstitutional."  This became known as the McCleary Decision. Again this year, the legislature must provide a "progress report" to the Court - it's expected next week.

WA Teacher Strikes to Close 8 Districts Wednesday

The latest update on proposed teacher strikes over Initiative 1351 funding appears to be spreading.  The Washington Policy Center (WPC) reported Tuesday at least 8 West side districts will be closed April 21st, affecting over 40,000 students. This despite the FACT that by state law, teacher strikes are illegal.
