A Minnesota man is in the Jefferson County jail following a major drug bust during a traffic stop.

Authorities, following the outcome of further investigation, released details Monday of an arrest from last week, about 15 miles North of Madras, OR on Highway 97.

Last Wednesday afternoon, an Oregon State Trooper pulled over a 2008 Chrysler Sebring driven by 31-year-old Daniel R. Vagle of Big Lake Minnesota.   He was stopped for a traffic violation, but the real prize was in a duffel bag in the trunk.

During the stop and subsequent investigation, and with the help of an OSP drug-sniffing dog,  officers found over $75,000 worth of pot (31 pounds!) in the bag.  Vagle is facing charges of unlawful delivery and possession of a controlled substance - marijuana. He was booked into the Jefferson County, OR jail.
