Just before Christmas a home fire in Wapato killed an entire family: a mom, dad, and two-year-old. Ironically, that same week my fire alarms started beeping.

The traditional advice is to replace the batteries in your fire alarms when you change your clocks for day-light savings time.

I bought a pack of four for about $10. My family is safe for a whole year for $10! And I didn't run a special errand... I grabbed the batteries at ACE Hardware when I went to buy light bulbs. Just remember to grab a pack next time you're at the grocery store and keep your family safe.

Not to discriminate, but there have been TOO MANY mobile home fires in 2015, so if you live in a mobile home, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get several fire alarms and plenty of fresh batteries!
