Children in Home of Walla Wall Murder-Suicide at Time of Shooting

Officials are calling it an especially cruel tragedy.

Walla Walla police confirm two children, ages 12 and 16, were in a home in the 300 block of North Spokane Street when the shootings occurred.

Police were called to the residence around 9:39pm Wednesday night and found 37-year old Maria Soria, and 46-year-old Jose Soria dead from what were apparent gunshot wounds.

Based upon initial evidence at the scene Walla Walla police confirm it was a murder-suicide, but did not say which of the two shot the other before turning the gun on themselves.

The investigation continues.
