An attempt to make more money after suffering a pay cut reportedly motivation for officer's actions.

31-year-old Omar Dejesus Meza of Milton-Freewater, OR is accused of smuggling pot and a cellphone into the Walla Walla State Penitentiary in 2013 when he worked there last year.

He has another court appearance April 7th on these allegations, but the Walla Walla Union Bulletin newspaper reports he had not been arrested.  He is charged with introducing contraband and delivering marijuana.  He made an appearance in Walla Walla Superior Court this week.

According to reports,  he had experienced a drop in overtime pay, and wanted to make up the difference.
