Crash Into Franklin County Canal Kills Driver

Franklin County Sheriff's have begun an investigation into a drowning that occurred sometime around 6:30am Monday.

A farmer, according to sources, called 911 to report either seeing the car go into, or noticed it was already in the major irrigation canal near Taylor Flats Road north of Pasco, near Ringold Road

The silver sedan was completely submerged by the time officials and Columbia Basin Dive Rescue arrived. One person is confirmed dead, no other details have been released. The person's identity is being withheld pending notification of relatives, but officials say a man was driving.
