The story occurred early Sunday morning, but was just now going viral Wednesday and Thursday. Michigan State Police report a 58-year-old unnamed motorist died after crashing his car on Interstate 75 near Detroit. He was reportedly watching porn on his cellphone and driving without pants! So, the argument becomes, is it pantless or pantsless?

Which is gramatically correct?  As mentioned on the Bob and Tom Show, you don't go into a store to buy a pair of 'pant,' you buy a pair of 'pants.'  In England, pant(s)less means you're going commando, without underwear.

But according to Wiktionary and other language sources, the correct word is 'pantless.' But given the argument made on Bob and Tom, that seems valid as well.

What do you think?  Pantless, or Pantsless?

By the way, this driver, not to make light of his demise, is headed for perhaps the number one slot on the Darwin Awards website, which is dedicated to people who do stupid things to remove themselves from the planet.
