Authorities have not said what caused this van to veer off the road and hit a tree around 5am Tuesday morning, but it's suspected icy roads could have contributed.

The driver was not seriously hurt, but the vehicle badly damaged in the wreck, which occurred near Columbia Center Boulevard and Quinault Ave.

Although we haven't had the 'big snow' or ice storms, roads are slicker than they appear, say police, and you still need to drive carefully.

Freezing fog from our air stagnation has left roads rather wet in the area.
