Americans haven't been very excited about the Sochi Olympics. Shaun White won't be there, Lindsay Vonn won't be there. People are upset about Russia's treatment of our government and their own minorities. Plus, Sochi seems like a boring city with incomplete infrastructure. That said, "DON'T FORGET TO WATCH THE OPENING CEREMONIES!"

NBC is channel 6 (if you have Charter) or channel 25.

The parade of nations is my favorite, but the whole ceremony makes for great television. People say 2002 Salt Lake City and 2010 Vancouver were some of the best Winter Olympics opening ceremonies. 2006 Turin has been called the worst. I won't miss it for nothing!

Even Olympics that are considered failures (Sarajevo and Lake Placid anyone?) make history.
