The Dragon Dog Is Officially the World’s Most Expensive Hot Dog

When we were first introduced to the Dragon Dog it was just a really expensive item on the menu at DougieDog Hot Dogs in Vancouver, Canada.

But now the $100 Frankfurter, a foot-long bratwurst topped with kobe beef, truffle oil, fresh lobster and hundred-year-old Louis XIII cognac, has been officially recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the most expensive hot dog in world.

According to Guinness, the unique meat sandwich shattered the previous mark of $69 held by the Haute Dog at Serendipity in New York City.

“Taking the title away from New York, I feel like we just won the Stanley Cup!,” said DougieDog Owner and Chief Hot Dog Designer dougieluv. (As far as we can tell from the press release that actually is his name.)

What makes the Dragon Dog so expensive is the cognac, which costs $2,400 a bottle.  But dougieluv insists his concoction is well worth its eye-catching price tag.

A hundred bucks isn’t that much to pay for a great, memorable dinner,” luv explained. “Plus, the Dragon Dog is great for sharing and the perfect way to impress a date.”

Ladies, is this true? Or does dougieluv sound suspiciously like a guy with a $100 hot dog he is trying to sell us?
