Residents of a Kennewick neighborhood were shocked, and probably terrified, over a driver who was seen whizzing by at speeds at or over 100 mph Monday evening.

Kennewick police were notified of numerous reports of the reckless errant driver in the area of East 6th and North Kingwood Ave.  The car was seen driving at those high speeds before the driver apparently tried to ditch the car after hitting another vehicle.

After the hit-and-run, the driver fled, but police were able to track him. Turns out, he's a 15-year-old juvenile. He's now in the detention facility, charged with Taking a Motor Vehicle without Permission, Reckless Driving, Hit-And-Run, and Driving Without a Valid License.

Here's hoping he spends a few years, not months, in the juvenile facility. He could have hit and killed someone!
