Very early Monday morning, Kennewick police were busy chasing, and apprehending, a suspect in a stolen truck.

23-year-old Eduardo Salazar, is in the Benton County jail facing multiple charges after he was caught trying to escape from his home.

The chase began around 1am, when a Kennewick officer saw a truck speeding on Columbia Drive.   The driver, Salazar, refused to pull over, but officers didn't give chase.  A short time later, the same truck was seen speeding Southbound near the 800 block of Columbia Center Blvd.  This time,  officers pursued, and a short time later the truck crashed into the side of a home in the 8300 block of West 10th.

Salazar and another man jumped from the truck and ran into a nearby orchard.  The passenger, who's name was not released,  turned out to the son of the truck's owner.  He was captured in the orchard.

Salazar was arrested after he apparently ran home, and was caught trying to escape his house.  He was wanted on oustanding warrants.    No one was injured in the incident.
