Authorities have turned to the public for help in identifying the vehicle and driver wanted in connection with an October 4th hit-and-run that occurred on Clearwater in Kennewick.

The car pictured is the suspect vehicle that struck a cyclist around 12:36am that day. The rider was headed east, in the proper lane of travel, and was wearing reflective clothing and had lights on the bike.

The car, believed to possibly an Acura or other late-model sedan, was also eastbound when it veered towards the rider, striking him.  The accident left a 26-foot long scrape mark on the road from dragging the bike. Fortunately the rider recovered from his injuries, but his bike was destroyed. It was replaced through the Kennewick Police Community fund, that officers use to help citizens in need.

Due to darkness, it's been difficult to find specific marks to identify the car, including the plate. These pictures are from nearby surveillance cameras.  Anyone with any information is asked to call Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers at (509)-586-TIPS (8477). All leads are confidential. Apprehension of a wanted suspect can result in a cash reward.
