Benton County Sheriff's responded to what turned out to be one of the more unusual accidents recently, not for what happened, but what MADE it happen.

Around 2pm, Deputies were called to Kennedy Road outside Benton City, where they found this vehicle on it's top. According to Deputies, the driver thought there was an issue with his vehicle, maybe having popped out of gear (manual transmission).

However, instead of re-engaging 3rd or 4th gear, he accidentally put it in reverse. Besides probably tearing up the gears at least a bit, the sudden jolt threw him out of control. The SUV careened off the road, rolling onto it's top.

The driver was relatively unharmed, but was charged with driving on a 3rd degree suspended license. He did receive several citations from the accident.
