Drowsy Driver Dumps Semi Onto Benton City Roundabout

A semi driver has been charged with negligent driving after falling asleep late last night.

51-year-old James Dugger was Eastbound on I-82 when he fell asleep behind the wheel, causing his truck to lose control. It plunged down the embankment at Exit 96, and came to a stop blocking the roundabout entering Benton City.

He and his passenger, 31-year-old Troy Morene, sustained injuries, although their specific nature was not disclosed. They were both taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Dugger was cited by the Washington State Patrol for the accident.
