Oregon State Patrol officials and Umatilla County Sheriff's say a passenger died from an unspecified overdose.

Tuesday morning, shortly before 9am,  officers responded to a report of a truck driver who called 911 about a passenger in his vehicle who stopped breathing.

The victim, 25-year-old Mitchell Robert Evans, was unconscious and unresponsive when officers arrived. CPR failed to revive him and he was taken to St. Anthony Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Officials did not specify if any medical condition was related, or what type of overdose Evans sustained.   The incident remains under investigation.
