Drunk Driver Hurts 2 in Big Intersection Crash, 1 Suspect Bails

A Sunday night crash has left 2 juveniles with minor injuries, could have been worse, after they were slammed into by a drunk driver.

Police were called to the intersection of South Washington and 19th Ave. after the Jeep pictured slammed into this passenger car around 8:45pm.

Authorities say Benjamin Danylyuk was arrested for DUI, and a passenger, 2-year-old Gennadi Symonchuck, busted for Minor in Possession of alcohol. A third unnamed passenger fled the scene before police got there.

If the investigation turns up that the two injured teens sustained any broken bones or injuries that require treatment beyond the day of the accident, the DUI charges will also be upgraded to include Felony Vehicular Assault. Police stress people of legal age who drink should NOT get behind the wheel!
