Dust Devils On to Northwest League Title Series-Waiting for Opponent

The Tri City Dust Devils clinched a berth in the Northwest A League Championship Series by beating Boise Tuesday night at GESA Stadium 9-1…now they wait to see who they will play. What are the possible pairings?
The Eugene Emeralds (San Diego Padres farm club) and the Vancouver Canadians (Oakland A’s) are tied 1-1 going into the “rubber match” Wednesday evening. Whoever wins will take on Tri Cities in the NW League Championship Series. If Eugene wins, the series will begin Thursday with Game 1 in Eugene, then games 2 and (if necessary) 3 at GESA Stadium. The home field advantage rotates between the East and the West Division every other year, this year it’s the West turn. However Eugene shares parking and infrastructure facilities with the University Of Oregon football team. They play at home Sat, so the Emeralds will forfeit home field. That’s why game one would be in Eugene, with 2 and 3 at GESA. If Vancouver wins tonight, the Dust Devils would play game one at GESA Stadium, then head to Canada for games 2 and (if necessary) 3. It is a best of three series. So, later Wednesday evening we should know who they will face. Listen to all the action on Newstalk 870 KFLD .
