Eagle Creek Hiker Falls 70 Feet Into Punchbowl Falls and Dies

Earlier this week on Tuesday, Francesco Goncalves of New York was hiking with his friends along an Eagle Creek Trail and fell 70 feet into the water and hit his head.

Witnesses told the authorities that by the time they got down to him he was face down in the water and had suffered a head injury.

Goncalves died before paramedics were on scene.

Eagle Creek is near Cascade Locks, Oregon, in the Columbia Gorge near Hood River and The Dalles.
