It's not a charge commonly heard in our area, but it's happened in Klickitat County.

A 30-year-old man will spend 15 years in prison for his role in the  death of a "client" who ingested an overdose of  heroin and eventually died. There were reports the heroin was also 'bad' or tainted, but that was not mentioned in the latest rulings.

Levi Lawrence Morefield was accused of selling the drug to multiple individuals in 2012 and 2013. In May 2013, he was charged with selling heroin to a man which eventually led to his death by overdose. An indictment was handed down in September of that year, and after considerable legal wrangling, Morefield entered a guilty plea in February of this year.

Following his release from prison, he will be required to spend three more years under direct court supervision. Morefield was previously arrested in 2010 for his role in a residential burglary.
