Tri Cities now has its first parking garage now that construction is completed at Kadlec Medical Center. The community gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday to mark the opening of the new facility according to news reports. The parking garage is free to use for anyone that needs a parking spot, not just for employees and patients of the hospital. City and hospital officials made the garage free for the community because they think Richland is ready to grow.

Richland Mayor Thompson was quoted saying ""The truth is that the Tri-Cities has changed a great deal in the last 15  years,""The inner parts of the cities either fall apart or redevelop. The city of Richland has made the decision to redevelop."
