Flood Warning For Yakima River Wednesday-Benton City

The National Weather Service, and Benton County Emergency Services have issued a flood warning for the Yakima River at Benton City . As of Tuesday, the river reached flood stage.
At the Kiona Station, 13 feet is considered flood stage.. Benton County EMS predicts a crest of 16 feet for the river before it returns to normal levels by Friday a.m. or midday. Officials say the levels ‘could’ produce similar damage to the 2009 flood that affected at least 30 homes in low lying areas. Residents are advised in those areas to move valuables, vehicles and animals to higher ground, and keep listening to Newstalk 870 and watching here for more news.
