FBI, Pendleton police and Umatilla Tribal Police with assault rifles convinced a 27-year-old man to surrender himself on charges of rape and drugs.

The man had been a star basketball player at Hermiston High School and as recently as 2010 was an assistant girls basketball coach at Echo High School.

He was charged with four counts of rape, three counts of unlawful penetration, two counts of sodomy, seven counts of other sexual abuse, one count of coercion and two counts of possession of meth and Ecstasy plus distribution to minors. Earlier this year he was charged with shoplifting, theft of a firearm and harassment among other things.
