A December trial awaits a 42-year-old former bookkeeper who's accused of stealing nearly $745,000 from a Richland doctor and using it for personal gain.

Jennifer L. Morris, who worked for Dr. Robert L. Whitson for 12 years, allegedly used the money for purses, trips and to make bill payments.

She reportedly used electronic transfers to cover payments made on a credit card belonging to her mother.

The charge includes aggravated theft, and court documents indicate the embezzlement took place over the last four years. The Doctor said Morris' actions have nearly destroyed him financially. Morris plead not guilty, her trial will start December 5th in Benton County Superior Court.  Officials say evidence of items purchased from the embezzlement was found in her home.
