Many of you watched Charlie Blackmon patrol the outfield at GESA Stadium a few  years ago.

Now, he's been named the National League Player of the Week in Major League Baseball!   Blackmon, who starred in Tri-Cities  for the Dust Devils, was on fire last week, collecting 18 hits, batting .500 and doubled in five straight games, tying a Colorado Rockies franchise record!  Blackmon was one of the few players during his time here who was always a threat to hit a ball out of the pitcher-friendly GESA Stadium.

He played in 2008 for Tri-City,  then after suffering a foot injury, briefly had a rehab stint with the Dust Devils in 2012 before rejoining Colorado later in the season.   He joins former Dust Devils Josh Rutledge (infield) and Chad Bettis (pitcher)  as growing standouts for the Rockies.  (Video courtesy of Major League Baseball-Colorado Rockies)
