Franklin County Jail Inmate Tries to Hang Self, In Serious Condition

A 37-year-old man remains in an area hospital in serious condition, after he reportedly tried to hang himself in his Franklin County jail cell last Thursday night.

Joel Vasquez of Kennewick, had been in the jail since last October on warrants and felony charges related to an armed robbery.

Jail officials reported they were doing routine cell and bed checks when he was found injured around 11pm. Pasco Paramedics performed life saving measures as he was transported to the hospital in serious condition. No other information has been released. Authorities did not specify was Vasquez used to try to hang himself.
