Franklin County Jail Oversight Official Found Dead in Home

The Franklin County Sheriff's office is reeling after the death of one of it's officers.

Lieutenant Patrick J. Reninger, 40, was found dead in his Kennewick home on Memorial Day, officials say there was no sign of foul play.

Reninger was in charge of the day-to-day operations of the Franklin County jail. The former Army veteran and his wife had a daughter last September. Due to his 'young' age and the fact that sheriff's and police have to meet certain physical standards, an autopsy will be conducted to determine his cause of death.

No other information has been released, pending the investigation.
