Go Ravens? Tri-City Herald Flubs Super Bowl Sunday Headline

Do the Falcons know? Was it another sneaky Belichik move to make the wrong team prep for game day? These were some of the jokes locals made on Facebook this morning as people began posting pics of the Feb. 5, 2017 Sunday edition of the Tri-City Herald.

How does a mistake like this happen? I used to work in newspapers and know all too well. The people who write the headlines at the very top of the paper are not the same people who write the articles, or even edit the articles. And those headlines are usually written last so they’re the last things an exhausted editor sees. And for the weekend edition, it’s often a separate staff.

Don’t be too hard on them.
