With the breath of fresh air that's come in the last few days, it's provided some much needed relief for the Kennewick Irrigation District and some other irrigators.

With a little rain, some clouds, and temperatures dropping nearly 15-18 degrees, the KID announced Monday watering zone windows for it's residential customers will go back to 30 minutes per zone, instead of the 20 announced last week.

KID officials say the overall cooler weather has resulted in more water becoming available, although conservation methods are still be practiced and urged.  The KID said it's preferred residential customers utilize hand-held hoses or area sprinklers to specifically target lawns and flowers, providing less overspill and waste.

Using a hand-held hose and smaller area sprinklers will also allow more water in a shorter period of time to keep plants alive.

But at least for now,  a little relief has come for residential consumers.  It should last at least a few days, temps by Friday, however, are forecast to rise into the low 90's again.
