Since 2005, Google has been developing a driverless car, which navigates itself with sensors, Google’s street view software and artificial intelligence.

According to The New York Times, the Mountain Valley California-based company is now seriously considering manufacturing the cars for the public.

It’s unclear if this means Google would build the cars from scratch, or just mass producing the software and equipment that could make a traditional car driverless.

As of now, Nevada is the only state in which self-operating vehicles can be utilized on public roads.
