Apparently the SIU, with it's hundreds of pages, videos and other evidence, were not enough.  Gov. Jay Inslee has decided to stick his nose in Franklin County's business.

The following statement was released Wednesday afternoon by Attorney General Bob Ferguson, following Franklin County Prosecutor Sean Sant's decision not to charge three Pasco police officers in the fatal shooting of Antonio Zambrano:

SEATTLE — Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson has released the following statement:

“Today, pursuant to RCW 43.10.232, I received a letter from Governor Inslee requesting that my office conduct a review of the charging decision by the Franklin County Prosecutor in the death of Antonio Zambrano-Montes.

“The Office of the Attorney General does not have original criminal jurisdiction in this matter.  By statute, my office could only investigate this death at the request of the Governor or the County Prosecuting Attorney. The Governor’s letter now grants us that authority.

“We will begin our review immediately. That being said, it is too soon to anticipate how long this review might take.

“I am committed to conducting a full and fair review of this matter.”  (Bold lettering added for emphasis).

The only thing we can deduct from this decision by Inslee is that he presumes the officers were guilty. Why else would he demand the Attorney General look over  the shoulder of a County prosecutor?  Where's the smoking gun? Where's the evidence that it was done wrong?
